They've been listening. And a lot of the teams who lost out on Mikal Bridges from Brooklyn have transferred over to trying to see if they can land Lauri Markkanen out of Utah. The Utah Jazz, they don't necessarily want to trade Lauri, but they will for the right price tag," added Chris Haynes. Markkanen has one year left on his deal at $18 million, a figure well below his market value, positioning the Jazz favorably either to retain or offload him at a premium.
Interestingly, though the Houston Rockets have reportedly stepped back from the pursuit, citing the price as "exorbitant," the Warriors seem undeterred, suggesting a measure of their commitment and ambition.
